E1.4 Asking and answering
You can ask the most common English questions and give short true answers about yourself.

Most conversations begin with the same few questions: your name, where you are from, how you are. This page holds those questions with their answers, and the Telugu meaning of each, so you can see what is being asked before you practise answering it. The answers are patterns with a blank for your own word, because your answer should be true.

Read the question, then say the answer with your own word where the blank is.

Work through these
Read each question aloud with its Telugu meaning
A question you recognise by sound is one you can answer without freezing. Reading each one aloud beside its meaning builds that recognition before anybody asks you for real.
Say the answer pattern for each question with your own word in the blank
The pattern gives you the shape of the answer and the blank keeps it true. Your own name, your own village and your own school are the words that belong there, and nobody checks those for you.
Ask somebody each question, and let them ask you back
A question only comes alive when a second person is involved. Taking both sides, asking and answering, is the whole exchange in miniature, and it can be done at home in Telugu company.
Answer three questions without reading, as if somebody had stopped you and asked
Answering from memory at ordinary speed is the real target of this page. Three questions answered without the page open means the patterns have moved from the paper into you.
