    Lists that keep numbering correctly, including lists with sub-levels, are notoriously fiddly. Understanding how they are built prevents the restart-at-one problem that everyone hits.

  • Restarting and continuing numbering

    Deliberately restarting a numbered list, or continuing one across an interruption, are the two operations you will need repeatedly. Both are commands rather than manual retyping.
