Presenting to the room instead of reading the screen is a learnable skill, and this topic covers presenter view and notes, rehearsing with timings, cutting to fit the slot, handling questions, and the backup-slide habit of keeping detail behind the last slide. It sits near the end of the PowerPoint arc because delivery is what all the slide work was for. The common confusion is rehearsing by reading silently; the timings only become real when the talk is spoken out loud, and a talk that fits in the head rarely fits in the slot.

The presenter display shows your notes and what is coming next while the audience sees only the slide. Using it well is the difference between presenting and reading.
Rehearse timings; cutting to fit
Rehearsing with a timer tells you what to cut, and every deck needs cutting. Discovering the overrun in the room is the expensive way to find out.
Handling questions and the backup-slide trick
Questions are easier when you have anticipated them, and slides held in reserve let you answer with evidence. It is a small amount of preparation with a large effect on confidence.
What to do when the projector fails
Equipment fails, and having a plan for presenting without slides means the talk survives it. Knowing your argument independently of the deck is the real protection.
