The linkage between small, medium and heavy industry is the structural fact worth carrying: most small enterprises exist as suppliers within a larger chain, so their fortunes are not independent. Enterprise classification matters practically because the thresholds determine which government schemes, credit terms and compliance rules apply to you. CSR is a statutory obligation in India above certain thresholds rather than voluntary goodwill, which surprises most students.
