3.1 Paired swaras, and why they come next
Explain what a janta varisai is and how it differs from a sarali varisai.
Janta means paired. Every swara in these exercises is sounded twice before the line moves on, and the second of the pair is stressed. That stress is the reason the exercises exist: it is the first place where how a note is played matters as much as which note it is.
